Register today for the 2026 Virtual Leadership Conference scheduled for May 19 to 22.

Due to the success of our 2025 Virtual Leadership Conference that focused on Building Better Supervisors, this year's conference theme will focus on "The 7 Sacred Teachings - as guiding principles in Leadership".
This course series is crafted for both Indigenous and Non-Indigenous leaders, emphasizing collaboration to embrace Indigenous values through the 7 Sacred Teachings. Each module will examine how to implement these teachings within leadership roles.
This course is designed for individuals moving into leadership positions or those already in leadership roles, aiming to enhance their skills with the added advantage of Indigenous teachings.
Schedule of Events:
Humility - A key characteristic of Leadership | May 19 - 9:00 am to 12:00 noon
The purpose of this session is to introduce and reinforce the concept of leadership. We will explore different leadership models that will help you understand the behaviours of effective leaders.

Learn to adjust your default style based on team development |
To build on transformational leadership while recognizing transactional leadership styles |
Wisdom in Communication & Accountability | May 19 - 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm
Wisdom is the gained experience and knowledge is to know the difference and accept responsibility and accountability. This session dives in to the critical act of accepting personal accountability.

Define effective communication and overcome barriers to communication |
Asking better questions to get better answers |
How to be an accountable leader and inspire personal accountability in your organization |
How to overcome violated accountability from your team |
Respect in Navigating Conflict | May 20 - 9:00 am to 12:00 noon
Respect is first and foremost. Respect one’s-self and respect will be given. Respect is given to all humankind. When dealing with difficult situations, respect will guide us and help us approach conflict with curiosity.

Courage through Emotional Intelligence | May 20 - 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm
We seek strength and courage to face our greatest enemy-oneself through Emotional Awareness. Courage is required to be a strong leader. You will be called upon to use courage in making decisions, to be accountable and respectful in communication.

Honesty - Foundational Quality to Building Trust as a Leader | May 21 - 9:00 am to 12:00 noon
Honesty comes from within and not to confused with truth (law). In reality there can only be honesty if one is to survive. We know that without Trust we cannot have successful teams. Explore the myths and realities of trust.

Truth never changes. Truth teaches the ability to Adapt to Change. | May 21 - 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm
Truth is symbolic of law and principle. The turtle represents truth and has been able to adapt to change without changing; thus he represents truth. Adapting to Change is important as a leader.

What is the 7 Sacred Teachings in Leadership Development?
The 7 Sacred Teachings are a set of lessons on human behaviour. This series is designed for leaders with a focus on incorporating cultural values into their workplace.
